About Beaver

Most of what turns up under amigurumi pattern needs work before it is usable. Beaver is the version that does not. 49 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. MyPatterns made it.

Yarn weight and hook size decide the finished size, so check them against your basket before casting on — the wrong weight shows the stuffing through the stitches. Put it to work on animal toy first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

If you came in looking for baby toy, beaver, crochet little toy and crochet toy, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. Judged against the requests we see — crochet stuffed animals, teddy bear nursery theme, vintage teddy bear nursery, doll handmade and handmade doll house — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. We filed it under Amigurumi and Toy Patterns for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. Related wording on the shelf: doll, plush, stuffed, bear and bunny. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it.

How to use this pattern

  1. Download the PDF from Creative Fabrica and check the yardage and hook size before you shop — a small gift rarely needs a full skein.
  2. Work the gauge swatch anyway on anything that has to fit, like a hat or a bracelet; on a stuffed toy you can skip it.
  3. Stuff toys firmer than feels right and close the seam with a ladder stitch — a gift gets squeezed, and loose stuffing shows within a week.
  4. Make the first one a week before you need it. The second one is always the one you give away.
